Class Registration and Schedule for 2026

9:30-11:30am Fair Isle Knitting and Icelandic Lopi Wool Knitting: Taught by Jennifer Daley (Class is $35) SIGN UP HERE– All knitters and skill levels are welcome in this class! Learn to knit Fair Isle style stranded colorwork, or improve your existing Fair Isle technique. This knitting class is all about learning, creating, and connecting through the rich tradition of Fair Isle knitting and Icelandic lopi wool knitting. We’ll explore color selection, managing floats, reading charts, and techniques for smooth, even tension — all while working on a beautiful knitting project you’ll be proud to wear. You’ll receive hands-on instruction, guided support, and a cozy space to learn at your own pace. Prior to class, students are required to purchase one Fair Isle knitting pattern or Icelandic Lopi wool knitting pattern of their choice at http://www.knittingjenny.com, which they will be knitting during class. Bring your Knitting Jenny pattern, yarn, and needles to class, and we will knit our way through the day! The class includes: * All knitting instruction delivered in person by Jennifer Daley, who lived in Fair Isle, Shetland Islands, Scotland * Stranded colorwork knitting tips, tricks, and techniques * A guided exploration of traditional Fair Isle patterns and motifs * An explanation of ideal yarn properties for Fair Isle knitting and Icelandic knitting * A discussion of Fair Isle and Icelandic knitwear design, including color dominance and color theory * A presentation of Fair Isle textile history and Shetland knitting tools * A knitted hat-blocking explanation * A steeking discussion on how and why to safely cut your knitting. HOMEWORK: Prior to class, students are required to purchase one Fair Isle knitting pattern or Icelandic Lopi wool knitting pattern of their choice at http://www.knittingjenny.com, which they will be knitting during class. Students can choose any Knitting Jenny stranded colorwork pattern, including Fair Isle or Icelandic Lopi wool knitting patterns. Students’ knitting homework includes casting on and knitting their Knitting Jenny pattern until just before the Fair Isle colorwork patterning begins. That way, during our class we can focus on the actual Fair Isle knitting and patterning and techniques, rather than the casting on and setup. 1:00-3:30pm Braided Cable Pumpkins: Taught by Charlotte Duron (Class is $65) SIGN UP HERE – We will discuss beginner cable stitches and reading a written cable pattern as well as a chart pattern. There will be CB4 and CF4 stitches in the project. We will work up a small cabled pumpkin in a round. I used the magic loop method to knit small things in a round…however, I will provide some DPN’s if someone prefers to work with them. I will have complete packets available for the students, which are included in the price. Kits will include hand-dyed yarn, needles, pattern, and other notions.

1:00-2:30pm Circular Weaving: Taught by Liz Bonny (Class is $30) SIGN UP HERE – How to weave on a circular loom (embroidery hoop). We will experiment with different yarns and weave structures. They can take the loom and yarn home to finish their project. All materials are provided for the class and included in the fee.
